The HFSA was subsequently structured consisting of two major operating committees:

1. The was formed to oversee the general membership of the Association. It is currently composed of the following two members:

The duties and responsibilities of the above Committee members are as follows:

a. To maintain a current listing of all members of the Association, including such information as name, e-mail address and residential location.

b. To recruit new members.

c. To officially welcome all new members to the site.

d. To act as mediator between members, as required.

e. To monitor postings to assure compliance with the Terms and Conditions (T&C).

f. To take any action(s) deemed appropriate to assure compliance with the T&C's. Appropriate actions for violations of the above-cited Terms and Conditions may consist of, but not be limited to, official written reprimand, temporary suspension or the permanent blocking, or revocation, of a member's participation in the Group.

In emergency situations, if a majority vote on an issue by the MOC is not possible due to the unavailability of an appointed member, a vote by the AOC will prevail in order to assure timely action in the conduct of important business.

2. The The was formed to oversee the general membership of the Association. It is currently composed of the following two members



a. The AOC was established to discuss, write and implement policy of the HFSA for the benefit of all members and for the advancement of the Association.

The Committee will always be mindful of the Mission Statement, Terms & Conditions of the HFSA, and input from fellow members, in its efforts on behalf of all members.

b. The Committee, in addition to its primary goal of providing support and information to persons with Hemifacial Spasm (HFS), will always be objective in its views, with the underlying objective being the future growth potential of the Association, its credibility within the medical community and its dissemination of professional research and personal information derived from its members.

c. The Committee will have the authority to make all decisions related to the administration, organization, operation and future direction of the Association. This responsibility will include, but not be limited to, creation and maintenance of the website and development and administration of policies and procedures of the Association.

d. On an as-needed basis, the Committee will be responsible for soliciting voluntary donations from its members as a means of maintaining sufficient funds to meet current and future expenses required for the continued operation, development and growth of the Association. These funds will be entrusted to the Association Treasurer.

The Committee will act as Advisor to the Treasurer in approving expenditures and accounting of HFSA funds. With the approval of the AOC, the Treasurer will use these funds for items such as Webspace hosting, computer software, printing, postage, graphics, meetings, etc.

At the end of each calendar month, the Treasurer will provide to the AOC and the membership, a financial overview report of all-existing funds and expenditures via e-mail posting to the entire membership via the Yahoo e-mail list.
