MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD
It gives us great pleasure to announce the appointment of the
Hemifacial Spasm Association's (HFSA) Medical Advisory Board (MAB). We are
honored to have the opportunity to work with these distinguished medical
professionals in the research, treatment and support of those who suffer with
Hemifacial Spasm (HFS). Their expertise will be greatly appreciated by our
membership and many others who are or who have been afflicted with HFS and
who seek solutions to ultimately improve upon their quality of life. Our
sincere gratitude is extended to the newly appointed MAB for sharing their
valuable time with us. We are eager to work together and look forward to a
long and rewarding relationship with them.

Note: Subsequently, this list will be amended by the Chairman, MAB, to
include an opthamologist or neurologist who administers Botox (R) and is well
published. When this appointment is made, an announcement will be made.
The following information is provided for your information as to the
function/purpose of our newly appointed MAB:
a. Medical Advisory Board members shall be medical practitioners or
investigators, and shall be named to serve for a specified period of time by
the Chairman of the Advisory Board.
b. The purpose of the Medical Advisory Board is to provide oversight
for medically-related information made available to the public by the
Association.
c. The liaison between the MAB and the HFSA is Beverly Cox. She may
be reached at: BeverlyCox@AOL.com or 210.497.6510.
Subsequently, two initiatives that we would like our newly appointed
MAB to participate in are:
a. Responding to "Ask the Doctors" questions (presented on a monthly
basis) to the Chairman for dissemination to a Board member for appropriate
response and posting on our website and,
b. Ultimately, to conduct a complete review of the Medical
Terminology Section of our site to ensure the accuracy and completeness of
information we are disseminating to the public.
The Chairman of the MAB, Dr. Peter J. Jannetta, will, of course, oversee
these and any other medically related initiatives of the HFSA.
Again, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Peter
J. Jannetta and the newly appointed members of the HFSA's MAB.
