The purpose/function of the Medical Advisory Board (MAB) is as follows:

a. The purpose of the Medical Advisory Board is to provide oversight for medically-related information made available to the public by the Association.

b. Medical Advisory Board members shall be medical practitioners or investigators, and shall be named to serve for a specified period of time by the Chairman of the Advisory Board.

c. The liaison between the MAB and the HFSA is Beverly Cox, who may be reached at BeverlyCox@hfs-assn.org or (210) 497-6510.

Two of the immediate functions to be performed by the MAB are:

a. Responding to "Ask the Doctors" questions submitted to the Chairman for dissemination to Board members for response and subsequent posting on our website and,

b. To conduct periodic reviews of the information contained in the Medical Terminology Section of our site to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information we are disseminating to the public and to provide updated information for inclusion therein.

The Chairman of the MAB, Dr. Peter J. Jannetta, will oversee these and any other medically related initiatives of the HFSA.
