Personal HFS History - Sherry Brockman

When the twitching first started under my eye I went to my G.P. He prescribed decongestants. I then went back and was given a script for an Aids test. No, I didn't have Aids. I then went to a chiropractor who told me my backbone was too crooked. When he gave up he sent me to a neurologist. She said I was mentally ill and sent me to a psychiatrist. After being seen by a psychiatrist for 6 months he realized the spasms in my face were real. He then sent me onto another neurologist. He gave me Botox® injections which were almost useless. I then found out about the MVD procedure and asked the neurologist why he didn't tell me about it. He said its way to dangerous and tried to talk me out of it. I would not take no for an answer. He finally referred me to Dr. Stephen Powers in Hershey, PA, the only doctor that knew what was going on and didn't try to pass the buck. He did my MVD procedure on 09/14/98 and I will be forever greatful to this man. He gave me my life and my smile back. They are priceless and so is he.

Has anyone else been on this kind of "wild goose chase"? God bless your heart if you were! It was so frustrating.

I just had to share this with you.
