I am so grateful for the technology for it had not been for the Internet, I never would have known what I was suffering with, which was incredibly embarrassing for me. Nor would I have known about the doctors and research that had been conducted on this topic. It was specifically through this group that I found out about the MVD procedure and chose to go to Drs. Jannetta and Sekula. Although not spasm free immediately, I felt that the procedure was a success and I’m so thankful that four months later I no longer suffered from a single spasm and my life has returned to normal. There was a time that my life was controlled 24/7 by the spasms and I really seriously thought about becoming a hermit rather than facing the public and having strange stares. After trying the medication and Botox, I finally decided to go for the surgery and fortunately, for me, it stopped them. I’ve been spasm free for a year this month.
I want everyone to know that even though I don’t post all that often, I still read each and every post, and for those of you who are still suffering with the “demon” and trying to find options to deal with it, my heart breaks because I feel your pain and know exactly what you’re going through. It brings back so many memories for me. And for those who have had successful surgery and are able to move on with other important things in life, I rejoice with you, for I also know what you’re going through as well.
I plan to remain a member as long as possible and if anyone ever needs any encouragement please feel free to e-mail me. As all of the other wonderful members of our group, I’m here for you and we truly are one big family.
